The crab fishermen filled the boats and hit the water yesterday for the beginning of crab season …but does that mean your family will be breaking crust in time for Thanksgiving?
The CDFW has closed the coast between Point Reyes in Marin County and the Sonoma/Mendocino county line for the fishery. Anello said that most boats from Bodega bay went south for the beginning of the season rather than wait for their coast to open up.
Last year, the Dungeness crab season was delayed for months by elevated levels of domoic acid.
