The ride-hailing company is refusing to obey demands by the state's Department of Motor Vehicles that it stop picking up San Francisco passengers in specially equipped Volvo SUVs. Uber’s fight with the state over its self-driving cars might move toward resolution today.  Attorneys for the ride-hailing service are scheduled to meet with the California Attorney General’s office and lawyers from the DMV.  Last week the DMV told Uber to stop testing its self-driving cars because the company doesn’t have a permit for the tests.  Today’s meeting comes a day after the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition said the self-driving cars pose a danger to bike riders because of how the cars turn across bike lanes.
