Golden State fell behind early to the up and coming Timberwolves. Their defense was completely absent as Minnesota gained a 10 point lead after the 1st quarter (34-24). The Dubs were playing catch-up for the entirety of the contest. Klay Thompson did everything he could in his power to lift the Warriors to a victory. Thompson netted a game-high 30 points to go along with 6 rebounds, and 2 assists. Steph Curry finished with 26 points despite shooting just 10-27 from the field. Karl-Anthony Towns gouged the Dubs in the 1st half for 19 points. He would go on to score just 4 points in the remainder of the game. Headed into the final quarter Golden State trailed (88-76). Their comeback bid started with defense. The Dubs clamped down on the Timberwolves who scored just 15 4th quarter points. The Warriors rallied back from down 14 to take the lead (102-101) on a Curry layup with 19 seconds left. Moments later Andrew Wiggins hit two free throws to help Minnesota regain the lead. With the chance to win it the ball and the fate of the game rested in Steph Curry’s fingertips. Curry’s final shot went halfway down before rattling out as Golden State lost 103-102. It was yet another disappointing defeat for the Warriors. The Dubs have now lost 4 of their last 6 games in the absence of Kevin Durant. Tomorrow’s face-off against the Spurs should be very interesting. Following tonight’s game, Kerr said he will rest the marquee players. This includes; Curry, Thompson, Green, and Iguodala. Tune into KSRO for tomorrow’s contest at 5:30 PM.
