Sonoma State University President Judy Sakaki is apologizing to those offended by a poem read at the school’s graduation ceremony. In the poem recited by graduating senior Dee Dee Simpson, she railed against police violence against African-Americans, disparaged President Donald Trump and Fox News, and used a number of expletives. The parents of another graduating senior expressed their outrage in angry emails to Sakaki, who apologized in an email reply. Sakaki did not respond yesterday to requests for comment because she was in Long Beach where she received the California State Student Association President of the Year award.
