Amidst all the holiday weekend events, the city of Sonoma commemorates the true reason for Memorial Day. The annual tribute will take place at the Sonoma Valley Memorial Park Cemetary at 11am Monday morning. Terry Leen says local veterans groups will honor the Northbay Tuskegee Airmen and a Japanese-born American World War II hero. Several local veterans groups get together every year to put on this Memorial Day event. This is the 59th commemoration.
