The Santa Rosa Teachers Association says nearly one-thousand teachers have been working for 14 months without a contract.  Yesterday around 40 teachers picketed outside the Hilton Sonoma Wine Country on Round Barn Boulevard. Inside the hotel, the school board was gathered for a special closed-door meeting, where they met with a labor negotiator. The union is seeking a three-percent salary increase and five-thousand dollars towards medical benefits. The president of the teachers union says the teachers’ last pay increase of 25-hundred dollars was in 2015-16.
