Winter is quiet time in wine country which makes it a very good time for a visit. With harvest over and future bottles resting peacefully, visitors can enjoy a quieter and more intimate experience. The Sonoma City Council may put a limit on how many wine tasting rooms are allowed around the broader Plaza. The city says 17-percent of the ground-floor businesses around the Plaza are wine-tasting facilities, with as many as 33 tasting-rooms. A study session Monday evening gauged feedback from the community. The City Council will consider options drafted by the city at a meeting this fall.
