On the morning of Monday October 9th, my mother and I evacuated The Orchards community, adjacent to Coffey Park. Took hours to get across town to my brother’s home in Bennett Valley. We had not listened to the car radio as yet. At my brother’s home, the only things working were electricity and KSRO. Both Comcast and Verizon were down. I was also tuned to Pat Kerrigan during the 9/11 attacks. For many of us, it was KSRO or nothing. A million thanks to Pat Kerrigan and KSRO are not enough. The station that started it all, 80 years ago, is still #1.
