Certain gun collectors may be considered exempt from the state-set limit on firearms purchases, according to a state appeals court. The “San Francisco Chronicle” reports that people who collect “relic” firearms will be allowed to go over the one-gun-per-month limit on purchases. The Third District Court of Appeal in Sacramento ruled against the state Thursday in a 3-0 vote that overturned a judge’s earlier ruling. Relic or “curio” weapons are guns with historical value, according to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. The ruling is now set to be reviewed by Attorney General Xavier Becerra’s office.
