Sonoma County grape growers are concerned that freezing temperatures and early bud break could damage the region’s crop. To protect the county’s nearly 600-million dollar industry, growers are using wind machines and sprinklers in an attempt to avoid frost. The biggest concern lies in the Russian River Valley and Carneros regions. The National Weather Service is predicting the unseasonably cold weather will continue through Friday, with a warming trend likely to begin by Saturday.
