The manager of the Kohl’s on Hopper Avenue in Santa Rosa says the store is set to reopen on March 18th. The department store suffered significant smoke damage during the Tubbs fire, and after months of cleaning, refurbishing and renovations it is ready to reopen its doors to the public. Nearly 30 businesses around the region were damaged or destroyed by the deadly wildfires, and some, like the Kmart on Cleveland Avenue have decided not to reopen. Four Kohl’s employees lost their homes in the fires, and three of them are ready to return to work and the fourth moved out of the area.
