The county has drafted new plans to protect it’s open spaces through 2031, particularly Agricultural lands, riparian corridors, and lands that will become public parks. The Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District created these plans based on community meetings held last year and is seeking further input in meetings over the next couple of weeks. The District expects to spend 468 million dollars through 2031 with 168 million used to acquire new easements or purchase land outright. The next meeting regarding the Open Space plan is tonight at the Sonoma Veterans Memorial Building at 6 PM.
