Homeless Advocates, Santa Rosa Fire Department Address Roseland Encampment Eviction

Dozens of homeless people are looking for a new place to sleep after being evicted from a Roseland homeless encampment. Santa Rosa officials yesterday morning cleared all belongings left behind at the camp behind the Dollar Tree store on Sebastopol Road that was once home to nearly 100 people. Many of those have already been placed in temporary or permanent housing. ABC7 spoke to Homeless Advocate Kathleen Finnegan:

 

 

Cleanup continues this morning at the Roseland homeless encampment. ABC7 spoke to Paul Lowenthall from the Santa Rosa Fire Department: he says it’s partly a safety issue:

 

 

The county’s Community Development Commission owns the site and plans to redevelop it for housing and commercial retail.
