Oakland Mayor Defending Herself After Her Name is Added to Controversial Legislation

The mayor of Oakland is defending herself after her name was slapped on a piece of controversial legislation. An Iowa congressman is proposing the Mayor Libby Schaaf Act of 2018, which would make it a crime for politicians to warn the public about upcoming ICE raids. The bill is aimed at Libby Schaaf after she broadcast a warning in February that ICE raids were coming. Schaaf says she doesn’t regret informing her community and believes the proposed bill doesn’t have a chance.
