California lawmakers are considering a bill that would allow school staff to request a gun restraining order against certain individuals. Assembly Bill 2888, which passed the Assembly Monday, is an extension of a current state law that allows family members and law enforcement to request gun restraining orders against people who show warning signs of violence. In the two years since the original law has been in effect, nearly 200 firearm restraining orders have been issued. AB 2888 now heads to the Senate.
