After a four-month ban, scooters are back in San Francisco. Two electric scooter companies, Skip and Scoot, have city permits to operate their service. City Attorneys had stopped the companies from renting to the public after a flood of complaints about scooters being left where they don’t belong and riders weaving around pedestrians on sidewalks. Now that Skip and Scoot have city permits, a number of people are back to using scooters in illegal ways.
