The Bay Area Air Quality Management District is extending an air quality advisory through today due to smoke wafting south from wildfires burning in southern Oregon. Officials say the smoke is mildly impacting the air in parts of the Bay Area, but not enough to declare a Spare the Air Alert. Residents may smell smoke and visibility could be affected, so people are being advised to stay in their homes for much of the day and make sure air conditioners and vents are set to recirculate air in an effort to prevent the pollution from getting indoors.
