INTERVIEW: “Wildland” Documentary on Firefighters Battling the Wildfires Coming to PBS Monday

Alex Jablonski, Co-Producer/Director of “Wildland”, “…filmed during two recent wildfire seasons, the documentary is a sweeping yet deeply personal account of a firefighting crew as they struggle with fear, loyalty, dreams, and demons. This is the story of ordinary people with nothing left to lose — as they trudge through an unforgiving a test of mind, body and spirit.”

Alex describes the training he and his crew underwent to become actual firefighters to be able to film this documentary, what the audience will see when the documentary airs this Monday evening on PBS, how the film follows a twenty-person crew from job interviews to their first fight with the wildfires, and the biggest change his crew observed while on-site with these new recruits:
