Out-of-state businesses that generate more than 100-thousand-dollars in annual sales from California will soon have to pay state sales tax. The change kicks-in April 1st. The Sacramento Bee says as many as 27-thousand companies would have to register with the state and begin paying the tax. State officials estimate one-billion-dollars in annual tax revenue. Those in favor of the change say online retailers should have to pay the same as brick-and-mortar stores.
