Vaccination Exemptions Continue to Rise in California

 

Here in California there’s a big focus on how children are skipping mandatory vaccinations. Dr. Richard Pan, a state senator and pediatrician, says the only way for a child to start school without being vaccinated is with a doctor’s note and those notes are becoming more available.

 

 

After a major measles outbreak in Disneyland four years ago, California changed its vaccination law to get rid of the personal belief exemption. Now the only way for a child to start school without being vaccinated is with a doctor’s note. In just three years, the number of medical exemptions has tripled.
