INTERVIEW: Russian River Flood Levels, Storm Update and Free Sandbags for Flooding Issues

Director of Emergency Management for the County of Sonoma, Christopher Godley provides an update on local flooding in relation to the continuing storm forecast, how they’re watching the burn scarred areas closely in relation to mudslides and other dangers, the outlook for the possibility of flooding in the Russian River region, and wraps up with other regions to be aware of when it comes to flooding:

 

 

Spencer Tangen, Meteorologist from the National Weather Service, provides insight on the present storm and is keeping a watch on the Russian River in regard to flooding:

 

 

During flood warnings and/or flood results, Friedman’s Home Improvement is offering 20 free sand bags to those in need. The first 20 bags are free, additional bags can be purchased for 32 cents each. The sand is FREE for sandbag use only. All materials need to fill bags are available in their yard at each location. Customers are responsible for filling their own bags.
