Governor Gavin Newsom is promising some of the youngest victims of the Camp Fire in Butte County that more help is on its way. Newsom spent Valentine’s Day at Pine Ridge Elementary School in Magalia doubling down on commitments to help rebuild communities devastated by wildfires.

The governor’s visit comes after he signed emergency legislation to back fill all property tax losses for the area for the next three years. The funds will allow schools to reopen, local governments to stay afloat and rebuilding efforts to begin. More than 14-thousand homes and businesses were destroyed during the Camp Fire in November.
