A two-part mini series detailing the story of the Golden State Killer will air this Sunday and Monday night. CNN’s Headline News channel “HLN” is running the documentary titled, “Unmasking a Killer.” It details how DNA evidence finally cracked the cold case more than 30 years after Joseph DeAngelo last terrorized communities across Northern California from the mid-70s through the mid-80s. DeAngelo is also known as the East Area Rapist. He’s charged with 13 murders, more than 50 sexual assaults, and as many as 100 burglaries. The 73-year-old DeAngelo was arrested last year in Citrus Heights.
