Most rivers in Northern California are back within their banks and the flooding wasn’t as bad as forecast. Only the Russian River at Guerneville and Upper Sacramento River at Ord Ferry are still under a flood warning. The National Weather Service’s River Forecast Center believes the Russian River peaked at three-feet over flood stage about 3:00 this morning and should recede below flood level by 6:00 or 7:00 tonight. The Sacramento is peaking about a-foot-and-a-half over this morning and it’s expected to be back within its banks around 10:00 tonight.

Minor flooding was also forecast along the Napa River yesterday, but it peaked a couple feet below its flood stages in both St. Helena and the city of Napa. The most serious flooding in the region was predicted for the Navarro River in Mendocino County, but instead of rising eight-feet over flood stage, it didn’t get any higher than six-inches over and it’s several feet below that now.
