An Alameda County sheriff’s deputy and his K-9 are okay after a crash near the Oakland airport Wednesday morning. The deputy was stopped on Ron Cowan Parkway responding to a separate accident when another car traveling at a high rate of speed lost control and hit his patrol car. The impact was hard enough to cause the airbags to deploy. The deputy was treated and released from a local hospital, while the dog was looked over by a veterinarian and both are expected to fully recover.
