Closure of Drakes Bay Oyster Co. Delayed

With a July 31 closure looming for Drakes Bay Oyster Co., the North Bay oyster farm got yet another stay of execution.
Last week,, the National Park Service said that it can continue operation, in response to the lawsuit filed by a group of local restaurants a week earlier. We are joined by Kevin Lunney, owner of Drakes Bay Oysters.

Congressman Mike Thompson Discusses What is Being Done for Andrew Tahmooressi

Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi #MarineHeldinMexico has been waiting for justice in a Mexican jail for over 100 days now. He was an active duty Marine from San Diego, who served in Afghanistan, who accidentally made a wrong turn into the toll gates at the Mexican border. He told the authorities he had his pesonal weapons in the back, and that's when the nightmare began. His plight has been largely ignored by the media, and by public officials. Congressman Mike Thompson joins us this morning to discuss what is being done for the marine.

A Coaching Legend Weighs in on New Concussion Rule

A new North Coast law will limit the amount of time high school football players can spend in full contact drills ...The law limits full on contact practices to 90-minutes a week, twice a week. Full contact workouts will be banned during the off season. As you might imagine that has sparked some real pushback, but a lot of folks agree that it is a good law.

High School coaching legend Gary Galloway of St. Vincent High School joins us to weigh in on the situation.

Tensions Flare in the Middle East Part 1

Why do the Palestinians and Jews keep fighting? What is it about this visceral antipathy between the two that keeps them at war, for CENTURIES? One reason is that many of the Palestinians have ties with Hamas, and some other terrorist organizations. Another reason - the Palestinians belief in Islam, which calls for the destruction of Israel. This morning we are joined by Dr. Mike Harris, an activist of the Israeli organization, "Stand with Us."
