KSRO's 26th Annual Good Food Hour Recipe Contest is a BACON CELEBRATION!
According to Chef John Ash, Sonoma County’s most well-known food and wine ambassador and co-host of the Good Food Hour, “It’s been enjoyed for hundreds of years, and I can’t think of an ingredient that generates such passion when you mention it… or excitement when you hear it sizzle. It gives big returns in flavor… it’s truly nature’s perfect food! Wherever you are… a four-star restaurant, to Sunday morning breakfast at home; the versatility of bacon is unmatched. From appetizers (remember rumaki?), soups, salads, breads and spreads, breakfast and main dishes, vegetables… even desserts… something with bacon always gets my attention. It’s the ideal ingredient for our Fall recipe contest. So look around… get creative, and have fun. There’s a whole world of bacon recipes to fuel your imagination.”
Four finalists assembled at G&G Supermarket located at 1211 West College Avenue, Santa Rosa on Saturday November 3rd at 11am for the Good Food Hour broadcast and taste-off with Chef Ash, co-host Steve Garner and a panel of celebrity judges. Winners were selected during The Good Food Hour, from 11am to 12 noon.
Entries were judged and awarded prizes that include gift certificates, cookbooks, wine, and cooking classes!
Since 1987, The Good Food Hour has broadcasted live from wineries, nurseries, farmers markets, and food and wine events all over the San Francisco Bay Area.
