Grammys, Emmys and Oscars are too obvious, so don’t get sucked in by the Academy awards…Get sucked in by the Whatever Awards. We have no shortage of Award Shows, just a shortage of good reasons to give awards out. Yet, Show-Biz is the most fun. They love to give out awards to people who play the roles of people who never get any awards or acknowledgement. And the scariest thought is that it is possible for the Academy Awards Show to win an Emmy, but the Emmys could never win and Oscar. Where’s Kanye West when you really need him?

The customer is now the most important thing to the credit card companies…unless you call in! With new credit card rules, you’d think customer service would improve…you’d think. However, the only thing the banks care about is helping you pay them…not helping you, the customer to get value. And if you’re wondering where they get all that money to pay executive bonuses, just try calling in so you can talk to a representative to get help. Customer service has become an oxymoron which is being handled by their ‘in-house oxymorons.”

The airlines change their advertising as quickly as Paris Hilton changes her designer boyfriends…so if you’re planning to fly, (in an airplane) listen up. In case you thought you were being packed into airplanes like cattle at the round-up, you are. And, as if those seats aren’t bolted down close enough to each other (and they are…) some airlines are contemplating a whole new approach to seating…it’s called, STANDING UP!

We want our schools to carefully watch our kids, at school…but not at home. A wealthy Philadelphia public high-school district that gives out Mac laptops with webcams to all the students never mentioned to the students, or the parents, that, not only could the school turn on the webcams and take shots of the kids at home, but actually did! Now, the school is being sued by a 10th grader and his family. Administrators are denying they did anything wrong. Perhaps, the lesson to be learned is that it’s hard to cash a reality check…in the state of denial.

What if your new best friend doesn’t play video games….but is one! Artificial intelligence versus human intelligence…the smart money is on the machines. And who’s to say that a well programmed machine wouldn’t design an even better well programmed machine? There have been books and movies over the years telling how artificial intelligence would take over the world and enslave us all. Thus, preventing us from living our lives freely with crime, war, greed and stupidity…and we certainly don’t want that to happen, do we? Well….
