GM bankruptcy puts retiree benefits in jeopardy

GM's filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection has many wondering...Did GM’s past write checks its future can’t cash? General Motors has thousands of dealers and almost a half million retirees depending on the company's ability to recover from the mess it is currently in. A lot of those people live right here in the Bay Area. So far, General Motors’ retirees expect to lose dental and vision coverage in July and will have higher healthcare co-payments. But what about those pensions that workers spent years earning?
