Earlier this month Indie film icon Kevin Smith was thrown off a Southwest flight. Recently, Smith challenged Southwest to bring one of the commuter plane chairs to the Daily Show for him sit in.
Fat discrimination affects the lives of many who do not have the kind of media power that Smith wields. Has the director's story opened a door for the larger members of our communities to make their case?

I believe Southwest Airlines are discriminating. They say in their policy they have to think about the comfort of their passengers, I guess if that means you are thin they care, otherwise they could care less. Weight discrimination should be illegal like any other discrimination.
