Tensions Flare in the Middle East Part 1

Why do the Palestinians and Jews keep fighting? What is it about this visceral antipathy between the two that keeps them at war, for CENTURIES? One reason is that many of the Palestinians have ties with Hamas, and some other terrorist organizations. Another reason - the Palestinians belief in Islam, which calls for the destruction of Israel. This morning we are joined by Dr. Mike Harris, an activist of the Israeli organization, "Stand with Us."

ISIL Terrorists Threaten U.S. President

The message from a Middle Eastern terrorist group couldn't be clearer - "We are coming to get you, Barack Obama." That chilling threat is from the Sunni radicals with the Islamic State of Iraq, or ISIl, a group considered to be worse than Al Quada. Fellow Soldier Seeks Justice for #MarineHeldInMexico

A Mexican federal judge sent Andrew Tahmooressi back to prison after the U.S. Marine sergeant made his first official courtroom appearance since being locked up more than three months ago for accidentally crossing the border with guns in his pickup truck. The 26-year-old veteran of two tours in Afghanistan was finally able to tell his story to a judge, after his case had been delayed by both Mexico's unpredictable legal system and his own trouble settling on a lawyer. Joining us to discuss the issue is Andrew Bartholomew, who served with Sgt. Tahmooressi in Afghanistan.

Unions Hit But Not Fatally

Public Sector unions have taken a hit, but not a fatal one with yesterday's Supreme Court decision signaling a distaste for state laws requiring public sector workers to pay union dues. VA Hospital Workers Claim Retaliation for Blowing Whistle on the Horrors They Saw

When Valerie Riviello, a nurse at a Veterans Affairs facility in New York, saw the clinic restrain a sexual assault survivor to a bed for seven consecutive hours, she released the woman.

The next day, Ms. Riviello said, she was removed from her post as senior nurse manager and given a full-time desk job that prohibited her from contact with patients. She eventually was reprimanded and is facing a 30-day unpaid suspension for releasing the woman.

Now, Ms. Riviello is one of more than 50 whistleblowers who say the Veterans Affairs Department retaliated against them for trying to do their jobs.

Boehner Wants to Sue Obama, Pelosi Wants Boehner to Grow Up

Speaker John A. Boehner said Wednesday that the House will vote later this year on whether to sue President Obama to try to force him to adhere more strictly to the law, in what could shape up as a major constitutional clash.

Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, a California Democrat, said that Mr. Boehner is only pursuing the lawsuit to look like Congress is doing something and hopes he takes the more mature approach to drop the lawsuit.
