California Wine Country on The Drive! Every #WineWednesday at 5:00.

California Wine Country is a 3-time nominee and winner of the 2015 award for "Best Critic or Review Series" at the Taste Awards in Los Angeles!

California Wine Country isn't your average wine show - it's a revealing look into the world of wine from grape to glass as told by those who create who create it.  The show is a celebration of the bounty of Wine Country, featuring the winemakers, vineyard managers, and grape growers who make it happen.  Each week we'll talk to a wide ranging array of guests - from major forces in the wine industry to smaller boutique and start up wineries.  It's not just a wine discussion, but an insightful feature of the background of the people behind the wine and how they got their start.  With the unmatched expertise of co-hosts Ben Pearson, Tom Simoneau, and William Allen, host Steve Jaxon presents Wine Wednesday in an engaging, entertaining, and interactive look into the region's most important industry.

Tom Simoneau "The Wine Guy"

Since the early 1990's Tom Simoneau "The Wine Guy" has been bringing KSRO listeners the best local wine reviews, tasting tips, and vineyard happenings.

Tom was born in Chisholm, Maine, and educated at Boston University. He spent nine years managing and performing in a country-rock band before finally making his way west as the Director of Telemarketing Sales for Windsor Vineyards.

In 1988, Tom purchased a 12-acre vineyard in Alexander Valley. Soon after, his passion for growing grapes and making wine paid off when (in 1992) Tom won the distinguished Amateur Red Sweepstakes Award at the Sonoma County Harvest Fair.

Tom's credits include judging professional and amateur wine competitions such as the California State Fair in Sacramento and the Cloverdale Citrus Fair.

He sits on the wine panel for the Press Democrat Food and Wine Section. Tom's informative articles on wine are also found in the magazine Northern California Woman. Tom also serves on the board of directors for the Sonoma County Viticulture Technical Group, the Santa Rosa Junior College Agribusiness Committee, and the marketing committee for the Alexander Valley Wine Growers.
