Ghost Pines Wines II

7/11/2010

Excellence has no boundaries. I’m Tom Simoneau with today’s wine minute here today talking Ghost Pines’ Wines. Ghost Pines’ winemaking philosophy is based on the idea that if you can make a better wine by blending grapes grown in different regions, then go ahead and blend. Winemaker Michael Eddy has been given the freedom of no limitations. He’s taken full advantage sourcing grapes for the Ghost Pines brand from Napa, Sonoma, Monterey, and San Joaquin’s most notable appellation – Lodi. With Ghost Pines all you need to do is read your label. On each variety you’ll see the percentage of grapes from each appellation. Look for the Ghost Pines 2007 Chardonnay 25% Sonoma, 35% Napa, and 40% Monterey showing baked apple pie and citrus, 4 wine stains, $20. The Ghost Pines 2008 Zinfandel is 85% Sonoma and 15% San Joaquin, all red and black fruit, juicy and spicy, 4½ wine stains, $20. At Ghost Pines excellence has no boundaries.
