Gloria Ferrer, established in 1982, was the first sparkling winery in the Carneros. Its owners, the Ferrer family, built their reputation as a Spanish Cava producer with their label Freixenet (Fresh-en-net). The label Freixenet is named after the Ferrer family’s first homestead, La Freixeneda, which is Catalan for ash tree grove. The weekend of July 21^st and 22^nd Gloria Ferrer Champagne Caves is celebrating summer and its heritage with the 20^th Annual Catalan Festival.
