He has a PhD in agricultural chemistry. He worked for Gallo, Beaulieu Vineyards, Monterrey Vineyards, Atlas Peak, and Folie a Deux. He has two daughters: Heidi Peterson Barrett of Screaming Eagle fame, who is married to Bo Barrett, winemaker at Chateau Montelena. Can you say Bottle Shock? And Holly Peterson a Michelin Star chef who was married to Tim Mondavi, Robert Mondavi’s son. Dick has his own wine brand, Richard Grant; he didn’t want to use his last name.  His wine is made from cuttings originating 2000 years ago from Wrotham, England.
