Auction Napa Valley

6/10/2012

Wine country’s own stimulus package, I’m Tom Simoneau with today’s wine minute here to say grape growers wear white hats. The next time the sound of a tractor in a nearby vineyard wakes you up at night or slows you down making its way back to a ranch on one of wine country’s back roads; thank your lucky stars for our North Coast wine business. Auction Napa Valley was held this past weekend. Since its inception back in 1981, over 112 million dollars has been raised for local charities. This week it was standing room only up and down the valley. Hotels were full, restaurants were packed, caterers, limo drivers, gas stations, even dry cleaners all benefited from the Auction Napa Valley weekend. It was the Napa Valley version of the Stimulus Package. Tonight I’m pouring a glass of Napa Valley wine and toasting the Napa Valley Vintners and all the volunteers… to a job well done. Congratulations!
