Wine and Fair food! I’m Tom Simoneau with today’s wine minute here to say if you fry it, I will buy it. Summer time is Fair time. And Fair time means fair food: French fries and corndogs front and center. And what are you going to wash down all these delicacies with? Don’t say beer… please… boring. Anything fried is begging for sparkling wine. A corndog and a cool Pinot Gris will work perfectly. And don’t worry about glassware at the fair. Personally I prefer a clear plastic cup, but in a pinch any cup will do. And as far as keeping the vino cold, that’s what ice cubes are for. Now a turkey drumstick or a little Chinese noodle surprise calls for a red Merlot on ice, out of a box, no problem. And anything garlicky… bring on a Rose. So white, red, or Rose, It’s Fair time; you make the rules. Now… pass me the cotton candy.
