The 78-year-old made history as the first woman to serve as U.S. attorney general. Her death early today was reportedly due to complications from Parkinson’s disease.

Janet Reno became the symbol of the Clinton administration for two very controversial calls – bringing in the FBI which then set the Davidian compound on fire, killing 80 people including more than a dozen children. she also sent federal agents to grab Elian Gonzalez, a terrified 7-year old whose mother died en route to the US from Cuba and returned him to the Communist Island nation.
