Santa Rosa City Council Race has Two More Newcomers Joining Two Incumbents

You can call her SUPERVISOR Lynda Hopkins now. The organic farmer from Sebastopol has beaten insider Noreen Evans in the race for the 5th district…replacing disgraced Supervisor Efren Carillo.

Newcomer Jack Tibbetts of the Board of Public Utilities leads in the 4 seat race with 29 percent of the vote followed closely by incumbent Julie Combs. Another newcomer is Chris Rogers whose a former aide to Senator Mike McGuire takes the 3rd spot with 25 percent. And then Ernesto Oliveras keeps his seat with 24 percent.
Political Science Professor Dr. Dave McCuan from Sonoma State University is stunned with Tibbets out in front. Don Taylor, owner of the Omelette Express and Brandi Asker, regional manager at Starbucks, both fell short with 17 and 15 percent of the vote respectively.
