A man who rose to national fame after a defective pistol shot paralized him at the age of 7 has died. 29-year old Brandon Maxfield of Willits suffered complications from his paralysis on November 13th.
Maxfield had a long legal fight against Bryco arms, now shut down, which started when he was shot by his father’s gun. The bullet hit Maxfield in the jaw and shattered his cervical spine, mostly paralyzing him from the neck down.
A family friend, Mike Harkins also wrote a book about Maxfield entitled “Move to Fire.”
