The Indiana Pacers came into the game as one of the most underrated teams in the NBA. With wins against the Clippers and Cavaliers, they had the full attention of the Warriors. Paul George has returned to his superstar form following that horrific injury two years ago. George played like a bonafide superstar in the 1st quarter. He led the Pacers with 8 points in the quarter. On the other side of the court, Klay and KD made their presence felt. It was one of those quarters for Klay Thompson. The superstar distributed 17 points in the 1st and looked untouchable. Draymond Green added 7 assists in just 11 minutes of play. Golden State tied a franchise record with 15 assists in a quarter. The Warrior’s offense was clicking on all cylinders and led (38-27) after 1. The Indiana bench briefly got the team back in the game. Rodney Stuckey was a big part of the run that got the Warrior lead down to 7. Things were looking up for the Pacers until Klay Thompson re-entered the game. He picked up right where he left off and scored 40 points in the first half. He was responsible for half of Golden State’s 80 first half points. The Dubs were up big (80-50). 25 assists to just 2 turnovers for the Bay’s team. In the 3rd quarter, Klay Thompson went back to work. He slowly got his point total to 51 points, just one behind his career high of 52. Klay would miss a free throw that would have tied his record. The mistake was short lived Klay drained a corner three to put him at 54 points. It was a night to remember as number 11 scored 60 points before he checked out in the 3rd. He is the 4th Warrior ever to record a 60 point game. The Dubs collectively shut down the Pacers and held them to 41% shooting. The Warriors also finished with 45 assists. The Final score Golden State 142, Indiana Pacers 106. It will be hard to top that performance! Warriors back at it on Wednesday in Los Angeles versus the Clippers.
