Sonoma County Health officials are threatening a fine of 5-thousand dollars a day against the folks who pick up our recycling every week. Press Democrat reports that North Bay Corporation, which handles the blue cans, had a cease and desist order for over a year, due to Health Department concerns at its recycling facilities. A 5-million dollar upgrade is on the docket, but that could take up to 4-months to complete. Sonoma and Northern Marin Counties produce about 350-tons of recycling every day.
