It was a star-studded night in New Orleans all the big boys came to play. Following their 4th quarter comeback against the TimberWolves, Golden State looked to wrap up the road trip with a win. The Pelicans and Anthony Davis were all that stood in their way. Through the first half, New Orleans punished Golden State with the 3 pointer. It was somewhat of an aberration as the Pelicans made 10/19 from deep. Galloway was responsible for 4 of those made three’s. The Warriors duked it out, but they trailed the Pelicans by 7 points at halftime (65-58). Steph had 15 points, Klay notched 13, and Durant added 10 in the first half. New Orleans shot a stellar 53.8 % through the first half. At the start of the 3rd quarter, the Dubs began to find their game. The defense clamped down and the Chef and KD went to work. The Pelicans quickly found themselves from up 7 to down 8 points in the 3rd (83-75). New Orleans would not go quietly, their bench continued to have a huge impact. Headed into the final quarter Golden State held a 1 point advantage over New Orleans (95-94). The game swayed back and forth in the 4th quarter both teams wanted this win. In the closing minutes, it was Golden State that would find a way to come out on top. In this offensive showcase, it was the defense that secured the win for the Dubs. With the Pelicans searching for a basket in the closing seconds Draymond Green made his move. He stripped Anthony Davis off the ball and got possession as Golden State eventually brought home an 113-109 win. New Orleans got great scoring from Davis 28 points and Galloway 20 points. Curry and Durant finish as the offensive heroes with 30 and 27 points. Draymond Green gets the gold star with a triple-double 12 points 12 rebounds and 10 assists. The Warriors finished with a 5-1 record on the trip. Next game is on Thursday in the sweet confines of Oracle Arena, pregame at 7 pm.
