Sonoma County hotels and its airport are experiencing a surge in visitors. Hotel revenues last year rose just under ten percent to over 280-million dollars, with the average room rate rising seven percent. Charles M. Schultz–Sonoma County Airport saw a passenger count increase of almost 30-percent to just under 340-thousand, with an expected increase this year of about ten percent. Overall, the hospitality industry ranks as the county’s second-largest business sector, with just over one-point-eight-billion in spending in 2015.
