It was not a pretty first half for the Warriors by any stretch as they were held to near 40% shooting. In the first quarter, the Dubs used their three-point prowess to secure a lead. The majority of that was thanks to Steph who made 3-5 from beyond the arc. Curry was the Warriors best player as he scored 14 points continuing his phenomenal scoring tear. On the other side of the court, Demarcus Cousins was outstanding in his own right. The King’s big man netted 12 points while punishing the Dubs inside the paint. Sacramento held the Warriors to just 41% from the field, but Golden State held a (31-27) lead. Sacramento’s 2nd unit helped grab the lead as they continued to move the basketball. Matt Barnes put the Kings up (40-37) with a corner three. Meanwhile, Cauley-Stein came out of nowhere to score 12 first half points for Sacramento. With things looking grim Klay Thompson put the Dubs on his back. The Kings were the better team the entire first half. They shot at nearly 55% got 15 points from Cousins and held the Warriors to 44%. Golden State thanks to Curry and Thompson’s 16 points a piece were tied going into the half at 56 points.

Sacramento quickly pushed their lead to 6 points (62-56). Curry and Thompson would come to the rescue and eliminated the lead with three-pointers. Things unraveled towards the end of the 3rd quarter. Steve Kerr lost his mind when the refs called 2 poor calls on Kevon Looney. Kerr had to be restrained and was ejected from the game. Following the unpleasantness, the Dubs and Kings were all tied at 82 after 3 quarters of play. In the 4th quarter, the Warriors and Kings went back and forth until the game headed to overtime. Golden State got off to a poor start, and Sacramento quickly seized momentum. Demarcus Cousins was almost unstoppable in OT. With 2 seconds left the Warriors had a chance to win. Steph Curry was left all alone but missed a game-winning layup. Golden State fell to the Kings by the final score of 109-106. Curry and Thompson were the only Warriors who produced tonight. Behind them, no one else was hitting shots. The Kings held the Dubs to just 41% shooting. Three games in four nights caught up to the Warriors. Up next the Dubs take on the Bulls Wednesday at 7:30 pm.
