If you hear a low-flying helicopter in the North Bay today, it’s probably PG&E. The utility company is conducting aerial patrols today to look for dead and dying trees. Five years of drought in the state have left many trees dead or structually compromised, and that could cause problems with wildfires and adjacent power lines. The choppers will fly as low as 200-feet along Highway 1, and in the areas of Geyserville, Asti, Cloverdale, and Healdsburg. That action takes place between 8am and 4pm this afternoon.
