PG&E is offering commercial cannabis growers agricultural energy rates, putting pot in the same category as any other crop. PG&E, one of the state’s largest utility companies, says their decision to view marijuana as a crop just like other fruits and vegetables came after voters approved recreational pot in November. A PG&E spokesperson said the company modified its policy “to ensure that the agricultural rate is valid for all legal crops in the state of California.”
