The Spurs pummeled the Golden State reserves and easily took home a 107-85 victory.

Saturday night marked the end of a brutal schedule for Golden State. The Warriors played 8 games in the last 13 days and lost Kevin Durant. Steve Kerr decided to flip the script last night by resting 4 of his top tier players. This list included the Splash Brothers, Draymond Green, and Andre Iguodala. San Antonio was without 2 of its stars as well. Kahwi Leonard and Marcus Aldridge were both out due to injury/medical concerns. Gregg Popovich and the Spurs were in control of the game from start to finish. The Golden State reserves were never able to match San Antonio’s scoring. In the first half, the Spurs made 11 of their 8 three-pointers while the Dubs made 5 total in the game. Golden State shot a horrendous 35% from the field while posting a season-low in points (85). The lone bright spot came in the form of Ian Clark. Clark netted a career-high 36 points on 15 of 21 shooting. Matt Barnes (14 points) and Zaza Pachulia (11 points) were the only other Warriors who scored in double figures. Golden State leads the Spurs by half a game for the number 1 seed in the Western Conference. Up next the Dubs return to the friendly confines of Oracle Arena. They face-off against the 76ers Tuesday at 7:30 pm. The well-rested Warriors should be more than ready for their next challenge.
