The Warriors continued to impress as they faced off against James Harden and the Rockets. Golden State came out with a vengeance and posted 37 first quarter points. As a team, they shot a blistering 70% including 5/10 from downtown. The Dubs continued working and saw their lead grown to 22 points over the hometown Rockets. Houston never gave up hope and fought the Warriors for every inch. The Rockets drew an absurd number of foul calls they wound up with 39 attempts (36-39). Golden State, on the other hand, received just 16 trips (12-16) to the foul line. It was a top-tier matchup, and the two teams did not disappoint. As the third quarter wound down, Houston pulled to within 3 points (76-73). The Warriors pushed their lead back to 11 (86-75) and never looked back. Despite a valiant effort by the Rockets the Dubs held on for an 113-106 victory. Steph Curry led the way with 32 points on an off night shooting. Klay Thompson added 25 as the ever consistent guard continues to impress. Draymond Green also chipped in 19 points to round out the scoring. James Harden did everything in his power to lead Houston to victory. The “Beard” posted his 20th triple-double (24 pts, 11 reb, 13 ast) of the season in the losing effort. Golden State proved their metal on the defensive end tonight. Their tremendous effort won the game. The Dubs held the Rockets to 36% shooting as well as 16% from beyond the arc. It was another statement win on this 8 game win streak. Win number 60 has a nice ring to it! Not to mention Steve Kerr earned his 200th win on the night. Kerr has truly elevated the Dubs to an unbelievable level of basketball. It is a short turnaround as tonight the Warriors will face off against the San Antonio Spurs. All eyes will shift to Texas as the battle for the number 1 seed rages on.
