Senator McGuire Introduces Bill that Would Create a Water Quality Committee for Clear Lake

For many years, there have been local and state efforts to improve the water quality in Clear Lake. Problems with algae and with mercury contamination from old mining operations. Now, Assembly Bill 707 would create a committee that would bring several groups together to study those problems and come up with solutions. Press Democrat reports that Senator Mike McGuire is behind the effort, saying that all the experts need to get together to solve the problems associated with the lake.
